PM Narendra Modi to visit Dholera SIR on March 12
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat to lay the foundation stones for the Tata Group’s semiconductor fab unit at Dholera Special Investment Region, and inaugurate key infrastructure projects, marking a major step forward in India’s industrial development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat on March 12 to lay the foundation stone of the Tata Group’s semiconductor fabrication facility at the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). The visit also includes the inauguration of completed infrastructure projects worth Rs 4,000 crore at the smart industrial city.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of the Sabarmati Ashram, along with several railway infrastructure projects, including station redevelopment, road bridges, and other facilities aimed at enhancing Indian Railways’ capacity and reducing transportation costs.
The semiconductor fab at Dholera, being developed by Tata Electronics, is India’s first AI-enabled commercial semiconductor facility. With an investment of Rs 91,000 crore, the project is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect skilled jobs, and strengthen India’s position in the global semiconductor industry.
The PM’s visit underscores the government’s focus on promoting high-tech industrial development and enhancing India’s semiconductor ecosystem, while also boosting local infrastructure and industrial capacity.
