Special Courses of GTU Targeting GIFT City and Dholera
Gujarat Technological University (GTU) is launching industry-focused courses aligned with the growing opportunities in GIFT City and Dholera SIR, with a strong focus on fintech, semiconductors, and employment-linked education.
GTU Aligns Education with Gujarat’s Emerging Growth Corridors
Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has redesigned its academic and skill-development programs to support the rapid growth of GIFT City and Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), two of Gujarat’s most ambitious infrastructure and investment-driven developments. These regions are fast emerging as national hubs for financial services, advanced manufacturing, and high-tech industries.
MBA in FinTech to Support GIFT City’s Financial Ecosystem
As part of this initiative, GTU will introduce an MBA in FinTech from the upcoming academic year. The program is being designed to meet the specific requirements of global banking, fintech, and technology firms operating in GIFT City. The course will allow students to gain globally relevant skills while studying within the Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar region.
Specialised Semiconductor Courses for Dholera SIR
In parallel, GTU has developed specialised technical programs focused on semiconductor manufacturing and electronics engineering. These courses are aligned with the rapid development of Dholera SIR as India’s upcoming semiconductor and electronics manufacturing hub, which is attracting large-scale domestic and international investments.
Industry Collaboration with Micron Technology
To ensure industry relevance, GTU has partnered with Micron Technology, a global leader in semiconductor solutions. Under this collaboration, Micron will support curriculum development, faculty training, and academic planning, enabling students to gain exposure to real-world industrial practices and global semiconductor standards.
Employment-Linked Education through GTU-Skills
These initiatives are being implemented through GTU-Skills (Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Centre for Industry and Lifelong Learning), which focuses on bridging the gap between education and employment. GTU has also partnered with Toyota to offer employment-linked diploma programs, allowing students to earn industry experience alongside formal education.
With large-scale developments planned across GIFT City and Dholera SIR, GTU’s targeted courses are expected to play a crucial role in preparing Gujarat’s youth for future-ready industries and strengthening the state’s position as a leader in innovation-driven education.
