Japan’s Tokyo Electron to set up office in Dholera, Gujarat: Report

Tokyo Electron is preparing to open offices in Dholera, Gujarat and Assam to provide support for Tata Electronics’ semiconductor fabrication and assembly/test facilities.

The Dholera office will align with the fab project timeline, accommodating 200–300 engineers and including training infrastructure and a warehouse for critical spare parts. In Assam, a smaller office will support the assembly and testing plant operations.

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Japanese premier Shigeru Ishiba, visited Tokyo Electron’s factory in Japan. Modi emphasized the importance of semiconductors as a key area of India-Japan collaboration and highlighted the growing role of Indian youth in this sector.
