MBA fintech course to start in GTU: Youth no longer have to go abroad to work in multinational companies, can study in Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar and make a career
GTU is going to launch MBA fintech course from next academic year. This course is being specially designed as per the requirement of financial and technological companies emerging in Gift City. As GTU is also a part of the eco system of Gift City. The course will be designed with the help of industry and will allow local youth to work in global companies. Also GTU has designed the course along with Dholera which is known as a semiconductor hub. Which is being seen as a game changer for India in technical education.
GTU has designed a course in partnership with Micron
Along with this, GTU has designed a course in partnership with a company called micron Technology considering another Special Economic Zone Dholera where semiconductor industry is emerging. Micron Technology will design a special course for the semiconductor industry and train professors from GTU. So that the youth of Gujarat can build a future in the semiconductor industry.
GTU-skills will bridge the gap between industries-employment
GTU Professor Dr. in the National Enclave of Vice Chancellor of All India Technical University. Keyur Darji said that all this is becoming possible because GTU-skills a special center has been developed. GTU-skills stands for Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Center for Industry and Lifelong Center to bridge the gap between industries and employment.
The 10th pass youth will get jobs along with studies
through this center, an MOU has been signed with the automobile company Toyota in which GTU has redesigned the diploma course at their plant in Becharaji. In this course, 3-year diploma engineering course will be given to 10th pass youth from Becharaji and surrounding rural areas. There will be no fees in this as the youth will also work in the plant along with their studies and will also get apprentices.
A course has also been prepared in the foundry industry,
apart from this, the structure and course has been made on the design of the Toyota course in the foundry industry which is large in Gujarat. So that the youth get employment opportunities around their area.
Dholera means 'Sinchu City' of Gujarat!
Dholera (SIR) is at a distance of 100 km from Sarkhej in Ahmedabad. SIR means (Special Investment Region). Dholera can be reached via Bavla, Bagodara via Bhavnagarwala road from Wataman Chowkdi. There is such a huge space here that a city bigger than Ahmedabad is going to be built. An ultramodern city like Singapore is going to be built here. As Taiwan's Hsinchu has become a global semiconductor hub, this place will also become Gujarat's semiconductor hub. Many businesses will come here, not just semiconductors. There will be businesses like defence, aviation, pharmaceuticals, agro and food processing, hi-tech engineering. There is a vast empty land here. Many road works have been completed, some plant works have started.

Gujarat became the first state in the country to make a semiconductor policy
The Gujarat government has made a semiconductor policy from 2022 to 2027 and has become the first state in India to make this policy. Under 'Gujarat Semiconductor Policy 2022-27', semiconductor projects will be subsidized and encouraged. A total of 75 per cent subsidy is planned for the project and zero stamp duty on land purchase. Along with this, water will be provided to the plant at Rs 12 per cubic meter for the first 5 years.
Semiconductor chip maker Micron Company of America will set up a plant in Sanand
American microchip manufacturing giant Micron Company will set up a plant in Sanand. For this, an MoU was signed in August-2023 in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Before this MoU, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to America in July-2023 and there Micron Company announced to set up a plant in Gujarat. Gujarat government will help Micron company with 20 percent of the total investment. Micron has announced an investment of Rs 22 thousand crores in Gujarat. For this, the plant will be prepared in two phases and ten thousand jobs will be created in both these phases in Gujarat. The first phase will be completed by the end of 2024 and the second phase will start in 2025 and be completed by 2027.
